My Life A Poem by a Devereux Child
I’m living the life
No matter what I do.
Everyone around me thinks so to.
Why me
Can’t you see everything?
That has happened to me.
Making wrong choices and
Hearing evil voices.
Why this life?
Why all this strife?
Why all these rules?
Why all these laws?
People make me think and pause.
I could be good.
I could be smart.
Why can’t I be me and have a new start?
Why my life?
Why this way?
Why do I have to be alive to this day?
I hated myself now I love me.
Thank God for that.
Thanks God for setting me free.
I’m now in Devereux
Doing well and getting help.
For what I’ve done,
Can’t you tell?
I’m doing better all the time,
Because everyday
I really try.
