  National Adoption Month 2018: Join the conversation

Each year, November is recognized as National Adoption Month and Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health wants to shine a light on the urgent need to connect the thousands of children and youth in the U.S. foster care system with permanent, loving families.

  Devereux’s Behavioral Health Consultant Wins Prestigious Educational Research Award

David Messer, Ph.D. and Behavioral Health Consultant for Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Arizona’s Adolescent Health & Wellness Clinic, recently received the 2018 American Education Research Association’s (AERA) Outstanding Dissertation in the Counseling & Human Services Division Award. The award was presented at the AERA’s annual convention last April.

The American Association of Suicidology reports that, in the U.S., nearly 45,000 individuals died by suicide in 2016. In addition, the organization said suicide is the 10th leading cause of death, with an average of one person taking his or her own life every 11.7 minutes.

  Devereux Arizona receives $500,000 gift from the Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation

Thanks to the continued generosity from the Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation, Devereux Arizona’s Scottsdale campus has exceeded the halfway point toward funding its $1.25 million capital campaign for a new dormitory that will serve youth with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences.
