Emotional and Behavioral Health Challenges
Devereux Pennsylvania provides innovative programs and services for children and adolescents up to age 18 with emotional and behavioral challenges in community and residential settings. Our goal is to provide the child or young adult with a sense of security and stability, which builds a foundation from which self-confidence and personal accomplishment can develop and grow.
Diagnoses served include ADHD, anxiety disorders, Bipolar Disorder, depression, and oppositional-defiant disorder. We also serve individuals with a history of substance abuse challenges, aggression to self and others, and emotional and physical trauma, as well as its aftereffects.
While our programs are located in southeast and northeast Pennsylvania, we encourage families who do not live in the region to contact us for help and information. We are proud to serve individuals and families across the country.
Our services include:
In southeast Pennsylvania, Devereux offers three innovative education programs designed for children with emotional and behavioral challenges. Each school has a unique focus to best individualize academic instruction, as well as social and emotional supports for the needs of each student. Our philosophy emphasizes Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and the transition from school to career.
For children and adolescents in crisis, intensive, short-term treatment is available at the Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center in Malvern, Pa. We can evaluate, diagnose and stabilize the child quickly after a psychiatric emergency and help the family connect to aftercare.
Devereux Pennsylvania believes in the importance of supporting families within their own neighborhoods. We are dedicated to providing specialized clinical and case management services within the home, school and other community-based settings in southeast Pennsylvania.
Devereux Pennsylvania’s foster care program in the Philadelphia area is noted for its support of children from infancy through 21 years of age. We serve general foster care needs and mother/baby referrals, and specialize in care for children who have had a history of trauma, abuse and neglect. Our resource parents are the agent of change for the children we serve and, as such, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health focuses its resources on the recruitment and continual clinical education of its resource parents.
Devereux Pennsylvania’s three residential treatment programs provide 24-hour, out-of-home services for children and adolescents who need intensive services. A team of caring, talented staff are dedicated to helping each child and young adult achieve social, emotional and educational goals and prepare to return to their own communities.
