‘Devereux has always been a safe place for me:’ Arizona team member shares transgender journey
Devereux Arizona Accounts Receivable Specialist Team Lead Kagen Leva was 37 years old when he came out as transgender. Leva, who was working at Devereux Pennsylvania’s Children’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services center (now Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services) at the time, describes it as a “sudden realization.”

The PLEA Agency to Join Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health
The PLEA Agency, a nonprofit mental health and education provider offering treatment, care and community-based services to individuals living with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges, has announced it will become an affiliate of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health.

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services team member celebrates 50 years of service
In 1972, fresh out of college with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education, and a desire to support students with disabilities, Doug Bitner accepted a position at Devereux Pennsylvania. In 2022, Bitner, who now works part time as a training specialist at Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services, celebrated 50 years with the organization.
