More than 200 golfers putt for a purpose at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pennsylvania's 37th annual Golf Classic.

The event, held at the Philadelphia Cricket Club in Flourtown, Pennsylvania, raised nearly $160,000 to support children, adolescents and adults served by the organization in southeastern Pennsylvania.

“What an incredible event – it would not have been possible without the kindness and generosity of our golfers, sponsors and volunteers whose commitment to our mission is truly commendable,” said Devereux National Director of Development Antonia Allsman. “The day was filled with sunshine, camaraderie and a shared passion for making a positive impact on the lives of youth and adults with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences. Funds raised from this event will allow us to continue to provide the highest quality programs and services for those in our care.”

Coming together as a community

Following the golf tournament, guests enjoyed a cocktail reception and dinner program that featured a silent auction. Top auction items included a Lionel Messi (Argentinian soccer player) framed photo collage, a golf outing at French Creek Golf Club in Elverson, Pennsylvania, and a Diamond Club experience at a Philadelphia Phillies game. WMMR radio host Preston Elliot served as the evening's emcee.

During the dinner program, attendees had the opportunity to meet four individuals who are achieving their dreams with support from Devereux.

Allsman noted, “This event is a powerful celebration of the life-changing work we do every day and allows us to come together as a community to show our support for the individuals and families we serve.”

Up next: 'Evening of Hope' event

Devereux Pennsylvania is hosting its “Evening of Hope: Supporting our Galaxy of Stars” event – also benefitting children, adolescents and adults served by the organization – on Nov. 9 at The Fuge (home of the U.S. Navy's Johnsville centrifuge) in Warminster, Pennsylvania.
