Devereux is a private, non-profit agency that provides special education and treatment for children, adolescents and young adults with emotional, behavioral, intellectual and developmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorders and co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. Opened in Massachusetts in 1965, we are nationally accredited and are part of the Devereux Foundation, which has centers in 12 states.

Devereux is a member of the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA), the American Association of Children's Residential Centers (AACRC), Massachusetts Association of 766 Approved Private Schools (maaps) and National Association of Private Special Education Centers (NAPSEC).

School of Excellence Award

Devereux School Massachusetts has been selected as 2014-2015 School of Excellence by the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET). This distinction has been bestowed upon only a few select qualified licensed private special education schools in the State of Massachusetts.

Selection as a NASET School of Excellence is the highest level of recognition a private special education school can achieve through our professional association. This honor is presented to private special education schools that meet rigorous professional criteria and have demonstrated truly exceptional dedication, commitment and achievement in the field of special education.
