Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is a non-profit behavioral health organization that provides special education and treatment for children, adolescents and young adults with emotional, behavioral, intellectual and developmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorders and co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. Opened in Massachusetts in 1965, we are nationally accredited and are part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health which employs more than 6,000 staff and operates 15 centers in 13 states, providing services to tens of thousands of individuals and their families annually.

Leadership Changes

After 23 years, Stephen Yerdon has retired as Executive Director of Devereux Massachusetts/Rhode Island. His successor is Kerry Ann Goldsmith, who has been Assistant Executive Director over the past 10 years where she was responsible for overall operations, quality improvement initiatives and licensing and accreditation processes. Nadyia Abbas, former Community Administrator, has been promoted to Assistant Executive Director. Click here to view the new organizational chart 

Clinical Internship Programs

Devereux maintains accreditation by the Council on Accreditation (COA) for “achieving the highest standards of professional practice for the services it provides.”

Devereux is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), which is characterized by commitment to establishing and maintaining high levels of education. NEASC is the accrediting body for over 2,000 public and independent schools and universities.

Devereux is a member of the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA), the American Association of Children's Residential Centers (AACRC), Massachusetts Association of 766 Approved Private Schools (maaps) and National Association of Private Special Education Centers (NAPSEC).
