Become a fundraiser: Make Devereux your charity of choice

With a single click of a button, family members and friends of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health can build support for the nonprofit, and make a significant impact on the children, adolescents and adults it serves.

Through the web-based crowdfunding platform, MobileCause, supporters can make a one-time or recurring (monthly, quarterly or annual) donation to Devereux, or launch a fundraising campaign on the organization’s behalf.

Since early 2018, Devereux has raised more than $8,000 through MobileCause, and thousands more through other crowdfunding methods.

“This fundraising tool makes it incredibly easy for our supporters to help us advance our mission,” said Devereux National Director of Development Antonia Allsman. “For those donors who want to become fundraisers, there are any number of ways you can set up a campaign. Some ideas include accepting donations – instead of gifts – on your birthday or anniversary to benefit our individuals. You can also acknowledge an awareness month, such as Autism Awareness Month in April or Mental Health Awareness Month in May, to raise funds. You can even make a page in honor, or, in memory, of a loved one. The possibilities are endless!”

Devereux Pennsylvania CIDDS crowdfunding campaign

The crowdfunding platform also allows Devereux centers across the country to highlight various fundraising initiatives and activities.

Devereux Pennsylvania recently launched a fundraising campaign to send youth at its Children’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (CIDDS) center to summer camp. Individuals will have the opportunity to attend a basketball clinic or visit a farm and help care for abused, neglected or retired horses, among other activities.

“Thanks to generous community support, we have raised more than $1,000, so far, to send our youth to summer camp.” said CIDDS Executive Director Carol Anne McNellis. “I cannot say enough about the physical, social, emotional and cognitive benefits our camp programs offer the individuals we serve. These programs provide a unique and educationally enriching opportunity for our youth to acquire new skills they can carry with them throughout their lives.”
