Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New Jersey’s Landis Day Program helps adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and other emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences acquire valuable life, job and social skills, and integrate into the community.

The program, located in Vineland, New Jersey, serves adults, ages 21 through lifespan.

“Our Landis Day Program offers both in-center and community-based activities that tap into each individual’s interests, strengths and needs,” said Devereux New Jersey Executive Director Eric Eberman, M.S.Ed. “Through these activities, we want to help the adults we serve learn and expand their skills and knowledge, grow positive and meaningful relationships within the community, achieve their goals – and thrive.”

Day program activities

All day program activities are implemented and supervised by a team of specially trained and highly skilled staff. Activities include:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Community events and picnics
  • Cooking
  • Health and physical fitness
  • Job and social skill-building
  • Recreational opportunities
  • Self-advocacy
  • Shopping
  • Social events
  • Visits to libraries and parks

“Utilizing a person-center approach to care, individuals enrolled in our Landis Day Program can choose what activities and opportunities they participate in,” explained Devereux New Jersey Vocational Program Manager Jessica Reith. “To further develop their interests, we have created cooking, gardening, science and computer clubs. Our ultimate goal is to teach the individuals we serve that they have a voice and their opinions matter. We want to help them build the skills needed to manage their emotions and behaviors more effectively, overcome challenges and succeed in life.”
