More than 150 guests embarked on an adventure “Under the Sea” at the South Shore Harbour Resort in League City, Texas, for Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Texas’ 20th annual “Yawl Ketch the Spirit … of Devereux” event to raise critical funds for the center’s Autism Intensive Residential Program.

The event generated $42,000 for the program, which serves youth, ages 6 to 17, with moderate to severe autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and co-occurring mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and attention-deficit disorder.

“What an incredible event! We want to thank our sponsors and attendees for their overwhelming kindness and generosity,” said Devereux Texas Executive Director Pam Reed. “Funds raised from this event will support our therapeutic and educational services, enabling us to continue to provide hope and healing for those in our care. Together, with our supporters and the greater Houston community, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and adolescents we serve.”

About the event …

During the “Yawl Ketch the Spirit” event, the South Shore Harbour Resort ballroom was transformed into an underwater wonderland, complete with a sunken ship, coral reefs, and mesmerizing jellyfish. The guests, many of whom dressed in ocean-themed attire, enjoyed specially crafted food and drinks, while the band Bourbon Street provided a lively atmosphere.

Exclusive experiences, including a weeklong stay in a luxurious estate home in Manzanillo, Mexico, a vibrant fajita fiesta party at Esteban’s Café and Cantina, an intimate private dinner at Butler’s Courtyard, and a penthouse stay at South Shore Harbour Resort, were offered via live and silent auctions.
