Devereux’s Hope Gala raises more than $700,000 for children and adults with special needsNearly 600 guests experienced a magical evening during Devereux Pennsylvania’s annual Hope Gala on November 11 at The Fillmore in Philadelphia. Thanks to the collective generosity of sponsors and attendees, Devereux raised more than $700,000 in gross proceeds to provide services and supports not only to the children, adolescents and adults with special needs we serve directly in the region, but also to the behavioral healthcare needs of communities across the country. In addition to raising critical funds to benefit local individuals with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences, the event highlighted the legacy of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health President and CEO Robert Q. Kreider, who will retire on Jan. 1, 2018, after more than 20 years of service with the organization. A spellbinding eveningWith the theme “A Spellbinding Evening: Celebrating the Magic of Robert Q. Kreider,” the evening featured one-of-a-kind live and silent auction items and experiences, a surprise performance by internationally recognized opera singer (and Kreider’s son-in-law) John Viscardi, food and drinks tied into the magical theme, and powerhouse band LA Starz who had guests dancing the night away. “What a fantastic evening! Our Hope Gala was a huge success,” said Kreider. “It was an honor to be recognized by my colleagues, family and friends during this special event but, even more importantly, I am grateful to our supporters for helping us continue to be a beacon of hope for the children, adolescents and adults we serve every day.” View our 2017 Hope Gala photos.
