'52 Weeks of Compassion:' Devereux Georgia rewards staff for giving their all every day

In an effort to recognize staff for always putting others first, Devereux Georgia’s Servant Leadership committee launched the “52 Weeks of Compassion” campaign. Throughout 2022, the committee will hold drawings for prizes and campus-wide events to thank employees for being compassionate caregivers.

Devereux Georgia’s Servant Leadership committee recently held a “Cups of Compassion” event where committee members set up multiple coffee stations around campus and provided fresh fruit and doughnuts.

The Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama once said, “Compassion and tolerance are not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength.”

Team members at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Georgia grow stronger every day by treating the individuals and families they serve, and each other, with kindness, empathy and respect.

“Our team members are simply the best – they rise to new challenges with patience and perseverance, and are always willing to lend a helping hand and offer support and encouragement whenever and wherever it is needed,” said Devereux Georgia Director of Business Development and Marketing Danielle Brock, who serves on the center’s Servant Leadership committee. “We want to honor and celebrate these Healthcare Heroes for their steadfast commitment to our organization and the youth in our care.”

Compassion gifts

Since kicking off the “52 Weeks of Compassion” campaign on Jan. 1, Devereux Georgia’s Servant Leadership committee has held drawings for various prizes, including gift cards staff can use however they see fit.

“We call them ‘Compassion Gifts.’ We want our team members to decide for themselves how they use the gift cards. Whether they get a massage, go to a restaurant or purchase groceries – it is entirely up to them,” Brock explained. “Our Servant Leadership committee also has given away tickets to the zoo and other items. In addition to the giveaways, we recently held a ‘Cups of Compassion’ event where we set up multiple coffee stations around campus and provided fresh fruit and doughnuts. Our employees do more than just show up – they give their absolute all every single day. We want them to know how much we value and appreciate their efforts.”
