Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health partners with Netsmart to implement innovative platform to streamline care coordination; interoperability

Villanova, PA – March 16, 2021 – Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, one of the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit providers of behavioral healthcare, today announced it will partner with Netsmart to deploy a portfolio of solutions and services to drive innovation and collaboration across the organization. This partnership also will enhance programs for, and communications with, the 25,000 individuals and families the nonprofit serves annually.

Netsmart.pngFollowing an extensive search, Netsmart’s myAvatar® will replace Devereux’s current electronic health record (EHR) system with the Netsmart CareFabric® platform to continue ensuring a whole-person healthcare experience for the children, adolescents and adults in Devereux’s care – and their families. Specifically, the CareFabric platform will be used for population health management, data analytics, consumer engagement and care coordination tools, as well as a variety of features that will allow for enhanced services across the organization’s geographic footprint. The platform also will help manage the full spectrum of care coordination for each individual served by Devereux – from time of referral and admission and throughout all aspects of the treatment process. In addition, the combination of the EHR with consumer engagement solutions will help Devereux as it begins building a patient portal to augment communication with families.

“As part of Devereux’s long-term strategy, we are focused on making investments that will enable us to employ state-of-the-art technologies to benefit the individuals and families we are privileged to serve every day,” said Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health President and CEO Carl E. Clark II. “Netsmart solutions and services offer a next generation set of tools – from the largest technology and solutions provider in the behavioral healthcare market – to help Devereux continue to deliver on its commitment to provide the highest quality and most compassionate care to our families.”

“Partnering with Netsmart not only will drive improved collaboration internally, but it will allow us to easily exchange data between providers, partners and agencies across diverse care settings,” Clark continued. “We look forward to working with Netsmart to implement this innovative and comprehensive technology platform to drive our organization forward in today’s ever-changing behavioral healthcare environment.”

In addition to the EHR, Devereux will adopt several components of the CareFabric platform to support its efforts to deliver compassionate and evidence-based programs and services – and whole-person care – to the individuals and families it serves. To strengthen these efforts, Devereux will utilize CareConnect, an integration engine advancing interoperability through direct, secure messaging, and health information exchanges into treatment plans and workflows. Tracking key performance indicators through dashboards will provide actionable insights and analytics, helping measure the success of individuals served.

“We are excited to partner with Devereux to advance their care models by leveraging our solutions,” said Netsmart CEO Mike Valentine. “Devereux has a long-standing goal of providing the best support for their employees to better serve their clients, and through our collaboration, they will be able to do just that. Together, Devereux and Netsmart have the scale and expertise to innovate in ways that could re-shape standards of care in the behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, child and family services, and autism communities – and that is exactly the goal as we begin this new journey together.”
