About Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health GeorgiaDevereux Advanced Behavioral Health Georgia was established in Cobb County, Georgia, in 1973 at the invitation of Gov. Jimmy Carter. For more than 40 years, we have been providing hope and healing for children, adolescents and young adults living with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences. Studies show that 1 in 5 children have, or will have, a serious mental illness in their lifetime – but help is available. At Devereux Georgia, we provide individualized services and supports to meet the unique needs of each child. Our goal is to help children lead productive, meaningful and socially-connected lives in their homes, schools and communities. Devereux Georgia is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the state of Georgia. All of our clinicians are licensed and experienced in state-of-the-art treatment options, including drug and alcohol addiction, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), aggression replacement, inappropriate sexual boundaries and working with commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC). We use individual, group and family therapy, coupled with a fully accredited school to create a therapeutic community where children can grow, develop and thrive.
