New Jersey’s Devereux Consultants program addresses needs of youth, adults with disabilities

Whether you are a behavioral health provider in need of consultation services and training, or the family of a loved one with emotional, behavioral or cognitive differences in need of individualized therapies, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New Jersey’s Devereux Consultants (DevCon) program has you covered.

DevCon staff, including psychiatrists, psychologists, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, behavior specialists and Registered Behavior Technicians, work closely with providers and families throughout the Garden State to help individuals achieve success in their homes, schools and communities.

“We want to meet providers and families wherever they are on their journeys, and work together to develop a treatment plan that builds on each individual’s unique strengths, needs and preferences,” said Devereux New Jersey Executive Director Brian Hancock, J.D. “The goal of this program is to help those with disabilities learn new skills and behaviors, increase their independence and enhance their quality of life.”

Providing individualized services, support

DevCon offers individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and mental health training to providers so they can immediately apply what they learn in their own programs. In addition, DevCon clinical staff work collaboratively with an individual’s care team to design and deliver ABA therapies that can result in positive outcomes.

DevCon services include:

  • Functional Behavior Assessment
  • Behavior support plans
  • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy
  • Training on ABA techniques for providers and families
  • Partnering with school districts on ABA support services
  • Social skills development
  • Cognitive assessment
  • Individual therapy

“Our DevCon clinical staff all have advanced education and training in ABA, along with years of experience in working with youth and adults with disabilities,” Hancock noted. “Services are available during the day, evenings or weekends. We tell providers and families, ‘We will come to you – whenever and wherever you need us.’”
