Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Florida Regional Administrator Tia Glover, MPH, M.Ed., BCBA, was recently appointed to serve on the executive committee of the Black Applied Behavior Analysts (BABA) board as president-elect.

Glover has been an active member of the BABA since 2019, working to raise awareness of applied behavior analysis (ABA) within the Black community. ABA is a therapeutic approach based on the science of learning and behavior.

“I am honored to serve as president-elect of the BABA board, and grateful to be in this position of influence given my background in behavior analysis, my commitment to supporting Devereux’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) organizational transformation and forward progress within the BABA,” said Glover. “I am excited for the opportunity to make a broader impact in our field. One of my main goals is to help the BABA expand its profile, as we are a newly formed organization. I am excited to see our progress in the years ahead.”

Networking, sharing knowledge

As president-elect, Glover and other Devereux Florida team members recently attended the 2022 BABA Conference in Detroit where they shared information about Devereux’s programs and services, as well as career opportunities.

“The conference was a huge success – it allowed us to meet and network with other behavioral health professionals; share ideas and knowledge; and promote the incredible work we are doing at Devereux,” Glover noted. “My role with the BABA is in synch with my role at Devereux – to provide leadership while fostering an environment of diversity, equity and inclusion for all and supporting our staff so we can continue to provide the best possible care for the individuals and families we serve.”

About the BABA

Incorporated in 2019, the BABA aims to reduce barriers for Black students, professionals and parents within the ABA field. The BABA offers member benefits, including mentorships, scholarship opportunities and trainings. The goal of the BABA is to increase the number of Black behavior analysts across the country and around the globe.
