The resources below are available for teens, young adults and parents who seek information and assistance with a variety of adolescent-related issues. Should you, or someone you know, need help, speaking with a healthcare provider is always the best source of information and treatment. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: : The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline provides free, confidential support 24/7 for anyone in distress.

Crisis Text Line: Provides free 24/7 support and information via text. A trained counselor will respond via a secure platform to help individuals through painful emotions and/or situations. Text “HOME” to 741741 or visit the site for more information.

Crisis Online ChatCrisis Chat provides emotional support and crisis intervention services for individuals who are depressed, hopeless or having thoughts of suicide.

Suicide Warning SignsAccording to, 67 percent of students tell a friend they are suicidal before telling anyone else. Suicide is preventable. You can make a difference by knowing the warning signs.

Reducing Stress and Anxiety

Mindfulness for Teens: Mindfulness for Teens provides tools to handle stress one moment at a time.

Reach Out: Provides practical support, tools and tips to help youth get through anything from everyday issues to difficult/tough situations. Apps available for download, which means support is always at your fingertips.

Teen Mental Health : This site is committed to creating and disseminating the highest quality mental health information (e.g., products and training programs), addressing the needs of youth (ages 12 to 25 years), families, educators, health providers, policy makers and others.

Go Ask Alice!: Supported by a team of Columbia University healthcare professionals, this site provides adolescents an opportunity to ask questions on a range of topics such as general health, nutrition, substance abuse, relationships, etc.

Love is Respect: Loveisrespect a project of the National Domestic Violence Hotline is the ultimate resource to empower youth to prevent and end dating abuse.

Sexual Health

Planned Parenthood: Information on this page is specifically for teens regarding sex, your body, relationships and more.

Teen Sexual Health: This site provides information on a variety of topics including dating and sex, delayed puberty, sexual pressure, sexual attraction and orientation, virginity, making healthy sexual decisions, etc.

I Wanna Know: Designed for teens, young adults and parents, this site offers information on sexual health. Facts, support and resources on a host of topics including STDs, pregnancy, LGBTQ specific challenges, relationships and sexual health.

Eating Disorders

Eating Disorder Hotline: 1-866-653-7168 Call 24/7 for eating disorder support

Bulimia: This site is for anyone battling an eating disorder including anorexia, bulimia and binge eating, as well as other food-related disorders. Also available is a list of resources for help, including chat groups for additional support.

Healthy Teen Project: Eating disorders affect millions of adolescents and young adults, which can lead to additional medical issues if not treated. This site provides facts and myths about eating disorders specifically in teens and young adults.

Substance Use

Drug and Alcohol Addiction: A drug and alcohol abuse hotline to help individuals who are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol.  The hotlines are confidential, free, and exist to provide information related to addiction and treatment even when an individual feels hopeless about recovery.
