Devereux California celebrates adults with special needs during annual event

More than 200 guests participated in Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health California’s 18^th annual “Devereux Day” event on August 11 in Goleta, Calif. 

Held on the Devereux California campus, the special event celebrates and recognizes adults served by the nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider, who are diagnosed with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences. 

With a “Carnival” theme, guests enjoyed a Latin-inspired lunch, live music and games. The event also featured an art and plant sale, showcasing the creativity and talents of Devereux’s individuals. Attendees included Devereux California staff members, individuals served, family members, friends and supporters. 

“Devereux Day was a huge success,” said Devereux California Executive Director Amy Evans. “This event is an opportunity for us to celebrate the wonderful adults in our care, while giving them a chance to socialize and have fun with their loved ones in a relaxed setting. We are so grateful to all those who helped make this day possible.”

Devereux California provides a continuum of care for adults – ages 18 through the lifespan – with diagnoses such as: autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and emotional and/or behavioral differences. Grace’s Place, located in Lawrenceville, helps survivors of human trafficking recover and rebuild their lives.
		Devereux honors nurses, teachers and mental health providers during May observances At Devereux, we are celebrating our more than 200 nurses, 200 teachers and 300 mental health providers who go above and beyond to meet the needs of the children, adolescents and adults they serve.
		Mental Health Awareness Month: Fostering open dialogue, understanding and support During Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is highlighting the importance of talking openly about mental health to combat stigma, foster a culture of empathy and understanding, and encourage those in need to seek support.
