Devereux California celebrates adults with special needs during annual event

 

More than 200 guests participated in Devereux California’s 18th annual “Devereux Day” in Goleta, Calif. The event recognizes adults served by the nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider, who are diagnosed with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences.
  

During the Carnival-themed event, guests enjoyed a Latin-inspired lunch, live music and games, along with a caricature artist!
  

The Devereux Day event also featured an art and plant sale, showcasing the creativity and talents of Devereux’s individuals.

More than 200 guests participated in Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health California’s 18th annual “Devereux Day” event on August 11 in Goleta, Calif. 

Held on the Devereux California campus, the special event celebrates and recognizes adults served by the nonprofit behavioral healthcare provider, who are diagnosed with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences. 

With a “Carnival” theme, guests enjoyed a Latin-inspired lunch, live music and games. The event also featured an art and plant sale, showcasing the creativity and talents of Devereux’s individuals. Attendees included Devereux California staff members, individuals served, family members, friends and supporters. 

“Devereux Day was a huge success,” said Devereux California Executive Director Amy Evans. “This event is an opportunity for us to celebrate the wonderful adults in our care, while giving them a chance to socialize and have fun with their loved ones in a relaxed setting. We are so grateful to all those who helped make this day possible.”

During Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is highlighting the importance of talking openly about mental health to combat stigma, foster a culture of empathy and understanding, and encourage those in need to seek support.
