Holiday music and good cheer filled Butler’s Courtyard in League City, Texas, in December for Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Texas’ Friends of Devereux Holiday Appreciation Luncheon.

The annual event recognizes Friends of Devereux volunteers for their year-long efforts to brighten and enrich the lives of the youth and adults served by Devereux Texas, through gifts and activities such as holiday stockings, birthday celebrations, and monthly “Fun Nights.” The event also celebrates the nonprofit’s community business partners.

Devereux Texas Executive Director Pam Reed expressed her gratitude to those in attendance for their continued support of the organization and the youth and adults entrusted to its care.

“Devereux Texas would not be the organization we are today, were it not for people like you,” she said. “Your willingness to give so generously of your time and talents to make the lives of those we serve a bit brighter means the world to all of us. Life at Devereux Texas is better because of you.”

League City’s city manager, John Baumgartner, attended the event, which featured specially crafted food prepared by Robinette and Company Caterers, a holiday program presented by Devereux Texas youth, and festive music.

Texas Advisory Board Chairman Bob Reeves acknowledged the Friends’ incoming executive committee and committee chairs, while Devereux Texas recognized some of the individuals and businesses in the community that played an important role throughout the past year.

Devereux Texas’ annual “Friend of the Year” award was presented to Janelle Wray who has been the chairperson of the nonprofit’s spiritual services for nearly 18 years. Friends of Devereux President Ashley Walters congratulated Wray and noted, “She has truly made an impact in the lives of many kids at Devereux.”

The award for “Community Business of the Year” went to Robinette and Company Caterers for the company’s commitment to Devereux Texas and those it serves.

“The staff at Robinette and Company Caterers have big hearts – and not just for the people they see day in and day out,” Walters explained. “It means a lot to know they are willing to go above and beyond to help the Friends of Devereux. We are proud to call the Robinette and Company Caterers team among our friends and neighbors.”

The afternoon event was sponsored by Butler’s Courtyard, Elite Care 24 Hour Emergency and Robinette and Company Caterers.
