How do you embed an inclusive, Servant Leadership mindset into your daily processes?
Every day, I try to meet the wants and needs of the individuals we serve, helping to make their lives easier. I assist them in keeping up with their personal hygiene, making sure they are clean and healthy. I also offer our individuals advice so they can make good decisions regarding their safety.
How do you inspire others to embrace Servant Leadership practices?
I try to inspire others by setting a good example in how I treat our individuals. Daily exercise is very important for the adults in our care. I help one of our individuals stay active by encouraging him to walk around the house from his bedroom to the kitchen as part of his daily exercise routine.
Share an example or story of how you demonstrated compassion or delivered quality customer service at your center.One individual I work with had a fall, and has been weaker ever since. I have been helping him get out of bed and assist him to the bathroom. One day, I noticed how high his bed was off the ground, so I asked my supervisor if we could lower it. That way, he could sleep comfortably and it would be easier for him to get up. We discussed it and made it happen. Now, he had a new bed that he seems to like, and he hasn’t been asking for as much help in getting out of bed because he’s able to reach the ground.
