Aliese Hernandez Cooper, Nurse Aliese Hernandez Cooper

Center/office location: Devereux Texas - League City

Length of service: April 2011

How do you embed an inclusive, Servant Leadership mindset into your daily processes?

Honestly, it just comes naturally. I have a big personality and am such a people person. I do my best to make sure I treat people with respect and fairness. I love helping others, and will lend a helping hand whenever and wherever it is needed.

How do you inspire others to embrace Servant Leadership practices?

I do what comes easy - I “be myself!” I try my hardest to be a good leader and role model to others by being an empathetic listener; guiding my peers outside of their comfort zones so they gain confidence in their abilities; and embracing the uniqueness and value of all those around me.

Recently, I played a large part in planning and executing our annual flu shot clinic on campus. Since not everyone was able to leave their units to attend, I, along with other nurses created a mobile flu vaccine clinic. We traveled from unit to unit and office to office, to ensure everyone had the opportunity to receive their annual flu shot.
