Under bright blue skies, more than 200 golfers hit the manicured golf greens at the Philadelphia Cricket Club in Flourtown, Pa., recently for Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pennsylvania’s annual Golf Classic.

The event raised nearly $170,000 to support children, adolescents and adults living with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences served by the organization in southeastern Pennsylvania.

“This year’s event was an overwhelming success, and we want to thank our loyal golfers, generous sponsors and dedicated volunteers for their support,” said Devereux National Director of Development Antonia Allsman. “Funds raised from the event will allow us to continue to make a lasting and positive impact on the lives of those we are privileged to serve.”

A community connection

Golfers who participated in this year’s event received a golf towel featuring artwork created by Dan, an individual who receives services through Devereux Pennsylvania – Adult Services. Earlier this year, adults at the center were asked to produce drawings, and Dan’s drawing was selected to be displayed on the golfer gift. Watch a video of a Devereux Pennsylvania – Adult Services team member revealing the towel to Dan.

Allsman noted, “We want to ensure those in our care feel connected to the community. Our adults were excited to showcase their artistic talents and create golf-themed drawings. Dan’s eyes lit up when he saw his drawing on a golf towel.”

Save the date: Wine and Dine event

Devereux Pennsylvania is hosting a Wine and Dine event – also benefitting youth and adults served by the organization – on Nov. 12 at Normandy Farm in Blue Bell, Pa. To become a sponsor or purchase tickets, visit wineanddine.devereux.org
