Following the golf tournament, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy a cocktail and dinner reception, and live and silent auctions.

During the dinner program, four individuals served by Devereux Pennsylvania were honored for overcoming tremendous personal challenges, including Brendan, who received the Thomas J. Brookshier Heart of a Champion Award.

Wet weather did not dampen the spirits of more than 250 golfers who hit the links for Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pennsylvania’s annual Golf Classic to raise critical funds for youth and adults with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences.

The golf outing, held on May 14 at the Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon and Militia Hill courses in Flourtown, Pa., generated more than $150,000 to support the 3,500 individuals Devereux serves in southeastern Pennsylvania.

Following the golf tournament, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy a cocktail and dinner reception, and live and silent auctions. WMMR radio host Preston Elliot served as the evening’s emcee.

“I want to thank our golfers, sponsors and volunteers for helping to make this year’s Golf Classic an overwhelming success,” said Devereux President and CEO Carl E. Clark II. “This event gets bigger and better each year – whether Mother Nature is on our side or not – and allows us to generate much-needed funding so that we may continue to serve and support the children, adolescents and adults in our care.”

Honoring the achievements of youth and adults

During the dinner program, four individuals served by Devereux Pennsylvania were honored for overcoming tremendous personal challenges.

“These individuals have demonstrated remarkable strength, determination and resilience in reaching their goals and dreams,” Clark shared. “Through hard work and dedication, they have been able to thrive in the face of adversity, and show their peers, families and – most importantly themselves – they can and will succeed.”
