Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health President and CEO Carl E. Clark II elected to Robert K. Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership Board of Trustees

Villanova, PA – June 11, 2019 Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, one of the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit providers of behavioral healthcare, announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Carl E. Clark II was elected to the Robert K. Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership® Board of Directors. Clark was elected to a three-year term (July 1, 2019–June 30, 2022) by the Greenleaf Center Board, and voted into office by the membership on May 30, 2019.

As a board member, Clark will collaborate with like-minded servant leaders to direct the future strategy of the longest, continuously operating servant leadership nonprofit organization in the world. In addition, Clark – along with his fellow board members –will ensure that the center is fulfilling its mission efficiently, effectively and in compliance with nonprofit practices.

“I am honored and humbled to participate on the Greenleaf Center’s Board of Trustees. I look forward to partnering with my colleagues to make positive contributions that will help advance Robert K. Greenleaf’s mission, strategy and visionary thinking,” said Clark.

Greenleaf Center CEO Pat Falotico added, “I am thrilled to welcome Carl to the Greenleaf Center Board of Trustees. As a true servant leadership practitioner, Carl will bring the voice of a CEO for a complex organization to the table as we steer the center into the future.” With more than 350 members, the Greenleaf Center is an international nonprofit organization whose mission is “to advance the awareness, understanding and practice of servant leadership by individuals and organizations.” 

About Carl E. Clark II 

Carl E. Clark II is the President and CEO of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, and only the seventh president in the organization’s history, since its founder Helena T. Devereux resigned from the position in 1957. He holds nearly 25 years of behavioral healthcare and human services experience.  

Prior to joining Devereux as senior vice president and chief operating officer in 2015, Clark developed a national reputation as one of the top operational and leadership experts in the nonprofit arena. For more than 20 years, he served in a variety of leadership roles at NHS Human Services, including regional executive director, senior vice president of program operations and, ultimately, executive vice president. Before his work at NHS, he served as special assistant to the executive deputy secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. Clark’s early professional years were spent in the direct care of children with special needs and those with juvenile justice involvement.

Clark holds a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from Penn State University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Shippensburg University. He serves on the boards of the Rehabilitation and Community Providers Association (RCPA) and the Youth Services Alliance of Pennsylvania.
