Devereux’s Carl E. Clark II helps RCPA ‘chart the future’ by listening

The Rehabilitation and Community Providers Association (RCPA) has enlisted several health and human services thought leaders – including current RCPA Board members and officers – to help drive the future of the organization.

Earlier this year, RCPA created a Steering Committee to guide the organization’s future direction through a deepened understanding of what its members value and find important. RCPA represents providers of health and human services (like Devereux) who are committed to effective, efficient and high-quality care.

Embarking on a ‘Listening Tour’`

Working with an external consultant, the RCPA Steering Committee conducted a “listening tour” in November, which included meetings and focus groups with RCPA members across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

As a member of the Steering Committee, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health President and Chief Executive Officer Carl E. Clark II said, “The goal of this strategic planning exercise is to learn how RCPA can become indispensable to its membership. During these meetings, members told us where RCPA excels, along with how it can further improve the value of membership.” Note: Clark is also a member of the RCPA Board of Directors.

“The focus groups offered a comprehensive approach to obtaining information that will be incorporated into an overall strategic planning process/action items for our organization,” explained RCPA Children’s Division Director Robena Spangler. “The Steering Committee will ensure that all collective feedback is used to further the mission and vision of RCPA.”

Sharing the findings

RCPA is currently aggregating feedback from all meetings and will develop a report from which to drive the organization’s strategic direction. The findings are expected to be shared with RCPA members in early 2018.

“RCPA is an excellent organization that provides critical advocacy services for health and human services organizations across Pennsylvania,” added Clark. “I am excited to participate in this effort that ultimately will have a positive impact on the organization, making it even more valuable to its membership base.”
