Therapeutic Foster Care (Child)
Devereux Arizona’s therapeutic foster care program serves children, ages 5 to 17, who are exhibiting emotional and behavioral challenges that interfere with their daily functioning and require out-of-home placements to support their needs. Typically, the youth we serve have had multiple unsuccessful out-of-home placements (e.g., traditional foster homes), or these individuals are transitioning out of a higher level of care (e.g., residential treatment).
Program Goals
Our program goals include:
- Increase resiliency
- Improve social skills
- Form and maintain positive relationships
- Improve self-esteem and self-image
- Reduce problem behaviors, while teaching effective, pro-social coping skills
