Get to know our Vocational and Day Habilitation ProgramsOverviewDevereux New Jersey’s day programs provide a continuum of services for more than 300 adults, ages 21 through lifespan, with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and other emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences. Our programs are designed to increase community engagement by establishing natural supports for all participants and by gaining community partnerships. Our in-center activities focus on each person's interests, strengths and needs. All of our community-based and in-center activities are supervised and implemented by a team of highly skilled staff who promote a Servant Leadership environment that prioritizes person-centered activities while empowering and inspiring individuals. Day Habilitation ProgramsOur person-centered Day Habilitation Program helps individuals gain the skills needed to become active and productive members of their communities. Participants work on customized/targeted goals and behaviors such as: adaptive living skills, communication, arts and crafts, related pre-vocational/vocational skills, and the reduction and/or elimination of maladaptive behaviors. Supported EmploymentWhen individuals secure competitive employment, it fills them with a sense of pride, identity and personal achievement. Devereux New Jersey’s Supported Employment Program provides personal growth opportunities for adults, age 21 and older, with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism and other emotional and behavioral challenges. We offer a host of employment services, including pre-placement, job coaching and ongoing coaching. Clinical SupportAll individuals enrolled in a Devereux day program have access to ongoing clinical supports from our best-in-class clinical team, including highly trained and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). Our team of BCBAs individualize behavior plans to help each adult achieve his or her career goals. In addition to our clinical expertise in our day program, every staff member is required to complete the Department of Developmental Disabilities’ DDD Overview Training, Medication and Administration Training, as well as our Preventing Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation Training. Devereux employees also participate in year-round ongoing education with our innovative learning team to stay updated on the latest care and treatment models. Every team member is CPR, first-aid and Safe and Positive Approaches (SP&A) trained as well.
