More than 350 guests gathered at the National Constitution Center in historic Philadelphia for Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pennsylvania’s 20th annual Hope Gala to raise critical funds for children, adolescents and adults living with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences.

The event this fall generated nearly $200,000 to benefit the more than 3,500 individuals the organization serves in southeastern Pennsylvania.

This year’s theme, “Fostering Independence,” celebrated the nonprofit’s commitment to helping the youth and adults in its care develop the skills needed to thrive.

“What an incredible event, and a night to remember! Thanks to the overwhelming kindness and generosity of our sponsors, volunteers and attendees, we are able to continue ‘fostering independence’ in those entrusted to our care – helping them become more productive and socially-connected members of their communities,” said Devereux President and CEO Carl E. Clark II. “Every dollar raised through this event will enhance our programs and services, and support our efforts to make a meaningful and positive impact on the lives of those we serve.”

About this year’s event …

Devereux Pennsylvania’s 2019 Hope Gala featured once-in-a-lifetime experiences and other extravagant items offered via live and silent auctions, including a seven-night stay at an oceanfront resort in Fiji, a group whiskey tasting and custom blazer fitting in Philadelphia, and an autographed Guns N’ Roses Fender electric guitar. Guests also enjoyed specially crafted food and drinks prepared by Brûlée Catering. Custom décor with themed accents accentuated the spectacular backdrop of the National Constitution Center.

The event was presented through the collaboration of the Devereux Hope Gala Committee, the Devereux Pennsylvania Advisory Board and more than 20 corporate sponsors, including presenting sponsor Independence Blue Cross.
