Ragan Communications Awards: Devereux recognized as finalist in DEI category

Devereux was recently selected as a finalist in Ragan Communications' Corporate Social Responsibility and Diversity Awards in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commitment category.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is thrilled to announce it was recently selected as a finalist in Ragan Communications' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Diversity Awards in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commitment category.

Ragan's CSR and Diversity Awards program celebrates “companies and individuals who have displayed exceptional dedication to making a positive impact on society and promoting diversity in all its forms.” Devereux will be recognized with the other finalists during Ragan Communications' CSR and Diversity Awards luncheon on Sept. 27 in New York City.

“We are honored to be recognized by Ragan Communications for our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) efforts. This acknowledgment is a testament to our unwavering commitment to ensuring DEIB is heard and felt throughout our entire organization,” said Devereux Senior Vice President of People Operations Mike Ernst, SHRM-SCP. “Our goal is to foster a culture of DEIB for our team members, the individuals and families we support, and the communities we serve every day. We will never stop working to create an environment where diverse perspectives are not only welcomed, but uplifted and celebrated.”

DEIB achievements

Since launching its DEIB organizational transformation in 2020, Devereux has made significant strides in its efforts to drive meaningful, lasting change. Just a few of these actions include:

  • Launching Employee Resource Groups for LGBTQ+, neurodiverse and international members of the Devereux community to support the interests and needs of these team members
  • Implementing enhanced DEIB onboarding training for all employees
  • Holding an annual DEIB/Servant Leadership Champions Conference to support and empower our leaders from across the organization who guide, instruct and monitor center practices in fostering an even more inclusive and equitable work environment
  • Conducting self-assessments at each Devereux location to understand the progress we are making when it comes to fostering DEIB across the organization
  • Introducing a new video – shared during the onboarding process – that explains how Devereux is a safe, welcoming place for all

Ernst noted, “We are incredibly proud of all we have accomplished so far, and are excited about the critical and transformative work that lies ahead as we work to ensure people of all backgrounds, identities and life experiences feel seen, heard and valued.”
