Severe Weather Preparedness/Hurricane Preparation at Devereux Florida

The Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Florida team has an established severe weather preparedness plan, which includes active involvement of all Devereux Florida team members to collectively support the individuals and families served, which includes close and continuous monitoring of the projected path of an impending storm and the potential impact to each Devereux program and local areas.

Devereux team members statewide exercise these established precautionary steps to prepare for the possible effects of storms and severe weather conditions. In the event of a Florida hurricane, administrative and clinical staff remain onsite along with our direct care staff at our residential programs throughout the duration of a storm as the established “storm team,” while an identified “relief team” prepares to arrive at each residential program once the storm has passed and it is deemed safe to do so. Devereux Florida team members remain in close communication with individuals and families served through our community-based programs to offer support as needed.

Hurricane Idalia Update:

As our Devereux programs, partners and friends across the state experienced weather effects of Florida Hurricane Idalia, we are grateful to report that all of the individuals we serve, our foster families, our staff and our programs are safe and have returned to typical programming. Our thanks to the entire Devereux Florida team for the dedication implementing our severe weather preparedness plan and our thoughts are with those in the Gulf Coast and Big Bend areas impacted by the storm. For further questions regarding our emergency preparedness plan, please see the information provided in the link above and/or contact the Devereux Florida Continuous Quality Improvement and Risk Management (FLCQIRM) Department at FLCQIRM@devereux.org or (321) 866-8560.
