Residential Services

Devereux California has four residential homes that provide services and supports to individuals, ages 18 to end-of-life, servicing individuals with multiple diagnoses. Devereux’s residential homes provide 24-hour supervision and instruction in a safe and home like setting. Our residential programs provide growth and development through assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic services. Residents are offered a wide range of programs and services.

  • Nursing support
  • Basic Living Skills and Social Skills Training

Consistent with Devereux’s Philosophy of Care and the three guiding principles (Individualized Services, Effective and Accountable Care, and Positive Approaches), the focus of treatment in all programs is on developing and maintaining skills and reducing challenging behaviors that interfere with the individual’s ability to achieve an optimal life.  Treatment includes focused support for building quality of life for the individuals served by the program, with an emphasis on non-aversive, positive and evidenced-based practices.

Casa Feliz (ages 18+)

Casa Feliz is a beautiful five (5) bed Adult Residential Facility (ARF) serving men and women 18 years of age and older. This home is designed to serve individuals with multiple diagnoses. This program focuses on quality of life and resident goals such as placement in a supported living situation or movement to a less restrictive setting. Therapeutic groups are provided as needed or appropriate.

The therapeutic residential program concentrates on teaching residents and helping them to maintain positive social behaviors and life skills that promote individual self-esteem. Recreation and independent living skills programs are an important part of life at Casa Feliz.

Mark Villa (ages 18 +)

Mark Villa is changing to a ten (10) bed Adult Residential Facility serving men and women 18 years of age and older. This home is designed to serve individuals with multiple diagnoses. The residents may also have behavioral disorders for which behavioral supports or therapeutic groups can be provided as needed.

Mark Villa emphasizes providing a variety of choices in activities to empower the resident, a high degree of structure to the environment as well as assisting the resident with age related transitions.

Weisman Center RCFE (ages 59 +)

Weisman Center is a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) and serves both men and women over the age of 59. The capacity of this warm and caring home is 15 people. The goal of Weisman is to maintain an excellent quality of life for an aging population. Maintaining skills, functioning and good health are promoted especially for these senior residents.

The program has full time nursing staff to assist in the maintenance of each individual’s physical health. Our highly skilled staff provide a variety of choices in activities to empower the residents, while still providing a high degree of structure. Weisman Center encourages residents to make choices about their activities of daily living, to develop lifestyles, skills and interests and to increase independent use of community resources when possible. This home supports individuals with behavioral and medical challenges.

Somerset Autism Home (ages 18 +)

Somerset is a five bed Adult Residential Facility in a community based setting. This home serves individuals diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder who also have moderate to severe behavioral challenges and/or significant deficits in adaptive skills. Somerset aims to prepare an individual to become a productive, socially connected member of their local community.

Residents receive on site behavior analysis services, medical case management, medication monitoring, independent living skills training, and community inclusion activities.

Our highly skilled multidisciplinary team is trained in safe and positive approach techniques. Staff foster a homelike environment that motivates each individual towards independence while still providing a highly structured behavioral setting with 24-hour supervision.

Respite (ages 18+)

Devereux CA offers short term residential respite for up to 21 days. Casa Feliz and Mark Villa are able to support people whose families or caretakers require a break and want their loved one to be cared for in a safe, structured setting. During the respite stay, Devereux CA will provide the same supervision, skill building opportunities and social activities that are provided to all of our residents.
