Devereux Pennsylvania’s Julie Donley named one of Main Line Today’s ‘Healthcare Heroes’

Main Line Today named Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Behavioral Health Services Director of Nursing Julie Donley one of its 2019 “Healthcare Heroes.”

The Main Line Today Healthcare Heroes award recognizes “individuals and organizations who make a difference in the health of their communities.” Donley (pictured with her husband, Louis) was honored during a special awards dinner and ceremony.

Main Line
Today,
a regional magazine focusing on Philadelphia’s Main Line and western suburbs,
named Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pennsylvania’s Julie Donley one of its 2019 “Healthcare Heroes."
The
award recognizes “individuals and organizations who truly make a difference in
the health of their communities.”
Since
2012, Donley has served as the director of nursing for residential services at Devereux Pennsylvania’s
Children’s Behavioral Health Services (CBHS) center, overseeing the
day-to-day operations of the nursing department.
“Julie
is an incredible asset to Devereux and to the entire healthcare community, and
I am thrilled that she is receiving this recognition,” said Devereux
Pennsylvania CBHS Executive Director Patricia
Hillis-Clark, Psy.D., BCBA. “Julie is a passionate, thoughtful and
innovative leader who does not shy away from a challenge. She is a tireless advocate
for the youth we serve – and our staff. Her commitment to excellence in all she
does is remarkable and inspiring.”
Donley
expressed her appreciation and gratitude for the award and noted, “I am proud
to accept this award on behalf of all of the nurses at Devereux Pennsylvania
CBHS. Nursing is both a rewarding and challenging profession, and everyone in
our nursing department works diligently to ensure our youth are receiving the
very best care and support as they strive to achieve their personal and
treatment goals.”
About Julie Donley
Donley
has more than 20 years of experience in the nursing field. She also is an accomplished
author, leadership coach and motivational speaker who launched her own business
called Nurturing Your Success in 2001.
In
2007, Donley was named alongside Oprah Winfrey and Suze Orman as one of the top
100 thought leaders in the U.S., in the area of personal leadership development
by Personal Excellence magazine.
Currently,
Donley is pursuing her Doctor of Education in organizational leadership with an
emphasis in healthcare administration. In 2016, she was awarded Devereux’s
prestigious Weaver E. Falberg Leadership Promise Fellowship award to support
her pursuit of higher education.

“I
have been incredibly blessed throughout my career,” Donley shared. ”In my role
at Devereux, I have the unique and wonderful opportunity to utilize all of the
skills I have gained as a successful business owner, leadership coach and
psychiatric nurse to benefit our youth and their families. I joined this
organization because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives on a much
larger scale. With the support of our amazing staff, I am able to accomplish
that goal each and every day.”

May issue and honored during a special awards dinner and ceremony on May 15.
