American Heart Association recognizes Devereux
for workplace health achievement
Devereux
Advanced Behavioral Health has been recognized by the American Heart
Association (AHA) for achieving silver level recognition in the AHA’s 2018 Workplace Health Achievement Index.
The honor recognizes Devereux’s actions to build a culture of health and
wellness in the workplace.
The AHA created the Index with its CEO Roundtable members, a leadership
collaborative of more than 40 CEOs from some of America’s largest companies,
who are committed to applying evidence-based approaches to improve employees’
overall health. The Index uses
science-based best practices to evaluate the overall quality and
comprehensiveness of workplace health programs.
More than 1,000 companies completed the Index
assessment this year and, of those companies, 75 percent received either Gold, Silver, or Bronze
recognition. Participating
companies receive benchmarking reports, allowing them to identify potential
areas of improvement so they can help their workforce move
toward ideal heart health.
“We are excited to receive this award, again,
in 2018,” said Tim Dillon,
Devereux’s vice president of human resources. “The health and wellness of our
employees is a priority for us, and we take pride in the recognition from the
American Heart Association. Small changes, like using less salt, increasing
water consumption, and eating more fruits and vegetables is a great start to
heart health. Taking a walk, not only helps with increasing exercise, but it’s
a great stress reducer.”
He continued: “Our wellness program provides
opportunities for our employees to track positive lifestyle choices while
rewarding them with a 10 percent discount on healthcare premiums. Employees
also receive a chance to win free, single healthcare for a year, by obtaining
preventive care which is covered at 100 percent without a copay or deductible.”
