Devereux salutes nurses and teachers
during appreciation weeks in May
Devereux
Advanced Behavioral Health is honoring the more than 200
teachers/special education teachers and nearly 300 nurses who selflessly and
tirelessly give of themselves on a daily basis to improve the lives of those
living with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences.
The organization recognizes the hard work and
accomplishments of these Servant Leaders during the following annual
observances – and year-round:
- National
Nurses Week: May 6-12
- National
Teacher Appreciation Week: May 5-11
Across the country, Devereux will pay tribute to these
heroes by holding recognition events and activities in May, and special
messages will be posted on the nonprofit’s Twitter, Facebook Careers and LinkedIn
pages.
“Words cannot express the deep gratitude we have for our amazing
nurses and teachers who humbly dedicate themselves to serving others,” said Devereux
Senior Vice President of People Operations Mike
Ernst. “These special people are key to our success, and we celebrate them
today – and every day – for their unwavering dedication and commitment to our
organization and the youth and adults in our care.”
National Nurses Week: May 6-12
The founder
of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale, once said, “I attribute my success to
this: I never gave or took an excuse.” National Nurses Week begins each year on
May 6 and ends on May 12, Nightingale’s birthday.
According to the American Nurses Association (ANA), this
year’s theme – “4
Million Reasons to Celebrate” – recognizes the vast
contributions of America’s 4 million registered nurses. Throughout the weeklong
celebration, the ADA is encouraging the public to share inspiring stories using
the Twitter hashtag #nursesweek.
National Teacher Appreciation Week: May 5-11
The National Parent Teacher Association states that
teachers “play a pivotal role in our children’s lives, inspiring a lifelong
love of learning and discovery and making a difference in their well-being and
long-term success.”
The theme of this year’s National Teacher Appreciation Week
is “Teachers
are Out of This World,” and the PTA is encouraging supporters to express
gratitude – using the Twitter hashtag #ThankATeacher
– for everything these stellar educators do to “help children reach for the
stars.”
