Autism Intensive Residential Program for Adolescents

Devereux Texas offers a residential treatment program for adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Located just outside of the Houston metropolitan area in northern Galveston County's League City, our peaceful 49-acre wooded campus features red brick colonial architecture and provides a calm, supportive environment. While in residential treatment, youth will have access to amenities, including a swimming pool, gymnasium, walking trail, playground, recreation room, kayaks and paddleboats, and on-campus dining. Our dining hall offers a variety of healthy food options and is equipped to serve those with specific dietary needs.

Devereux Texas’ League City campus is accredited by The Joint Commission.

Treatment Plans and Objectives

Our treatment plans are individualized to meet each individual’s needs. Treatment interventions are evidence-based, family-centered, and use a strengths-based approach to behavior change.

Our treatment program is designed to help youth achieve:

  • Maximized self-sufficiency
  • Improved ability to complete everyday tasks independently
  • Opportunity to build social connections with support in an environment based on inclusion and respect for individual variability
  • Behavior change built on individual strengths with treatment oversight from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Education Services: The Devereux School is a non-traditional, therapeutic program with 12 or fewer students per classroom. Course materials are taught by certified teachers with support from direct care professionals and the treatment team. We are able to partner with an individual’s school in the community to ensure educational continuity, or develop a new academic plan based on review of an individual’s transcripts, school records and strengths and needs assessment.

The Devereux School is accredited by Cognia, which is recognized by the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission.
