Assessment and Intervention Center (AIC) - Tucson

Devereux Arizona’s Assessment and Intervention Center (AIC) is a licensed behavioral health facility that provides comprehensive evaluations and intensive behavioral healthcare interventions in a safe, supportive and structured therapeutic environment for up to 45 days.

Our multidisciplinary team works to identify each individual’s current level of functioning, as well as their strengths and needs through a complete assessment process. Our goal is to minimize future disruptions by developing a comprehensive plan that supports the youth’s return to his or her home, school or community.

AIC Eligible Populations

• Are Title 19 or Title 21 eligible and enrolled
• Are male or female youth, ages 9 to 17
• Have a mental health diagnoses defined by the current DSM-V
• Present with challenging behaviors
• Have had previous treatment modalities/services that have not fully addressed underlying needs

AIC Services

Services are designed for youth with multiple treatment needs who may present with symptomology ranging across the spectrum of DSM-V diagnoses.

DSM-V diagnoses include:

• Mood disorder
• Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder
• Oppositional defiant disorder
• Conduct disorder
• Post-traumatic stress disorder
• Psychotic disorder

We also provide a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, including medication assessment and monitoring. A Behavior Support Plan based on a Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) is implemented along with coaching and follow-ups with a master’s-level therapist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Youth receive health and nutrition screenings by a registered nurse, as well as individual and family therapy. In addition, we provide aftercare recommendations to ensure a smooth transition from our AIC to the individual’s home, school or community.

AIC Length of Stay

Youth can remain at our AIC for up to 45 days.
