Devereux Respite Program (Serving the Tucson Area)Respite Overview (Facility- and Family-Based Respite)The goal of Devereux Arizona’s respite program is to provide a period of rest for the youth we serve and their primary caregivers in a safe, structured environment (in one of our respite homes or in a respite provider’s home). Respite, when used appropriately, can reduce the need for more intensive services and help preserve the family. The needs of each child are evaluated in determining the optimal respite environment. Children younger than 4 years of age may be placed with a Devereux Arizona respite family provider. Who qualifies for respite?Children who are living in a home setting, with their biological, foster or adoptive families, and are receiving behavioral health services from a community provider may be eligible for respite.
