Fall ActivitiesFall Activities to Promote Protective Factors

Have children select a leaf (or another object in nature) that reminds them of each family member. Talk about how they feel when they are having fun with that person, and ask them to share some of the good times they have had together (AT). Then, have the children use their patience and helping hands to share materials to make their leaves into a family collage (SC). Use glue, construction paper, and any other art supplies you want! Have the children use their imagination to “label” each family member in their own way (IN). Thank you to Wrightstown Friends Nursery School in Penns Park, PA for this idea! More >>

Letter From Our Director
As I prepared to write this letter, the news was full of stories about our nation’s lack of “civility”. The word “bullying” came to my mind on more than one occasion. The outburst during the President’s recent Congressional address and the incident at the MTV Video Music Awards were among the most widely reported, but sadly, I am confident that your local news was full of equally disturbing incidents.
