More than 250 volunteers, including workers from Central Florida Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealers and KaBOOM!, built a new playground for children served by Devereux Florida.

The new playground, designed by the children, was constructed in less than eight hours. It is the 15th of 25 playgrounds scheduled to be built across the country this year by KaBOOM!, The Chrysler Foundation, and Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealers.

Headquartered in Orlando, Devereux Florida serves more than 5,000 children daily at locations in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Brevard, Volusia, Duval, Polk, Hardee, Highlands, Pinellas, Leon, Lee, Hillsborough, Broward and Dade Counties. It employs more than 1,000, plus 100 contract workers.

KaBOOM! is a national non-profit organization, established in 1995, that has used its community-build model to bring together business and community interests to construct more than 1,500 new playgrounds, skate parks, sports fields and ice rinks across North America. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., it has offices in Chicago and San Mateo, Calif.
