Respite Services

Devereux Whitlock - Respite Services

Respite care is provided for families and companions caring for an individual with special needs. Short and long-term respite care is available on our campus or in the care recipient's home. We provide respite care for adults over the age of 21 with mental retardation, psychiatric disorders, developmental disabilities and for individuals with medical complexities and physical limitations.

Admissions

General Admission criteria for respite services include:
  • Adults 21 years of age and older
  • Mental health, mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities diagnosis

The Program accepts individuals with ambulatory difficulties, hearing and visual impairments, seizure disorders, stable cardiac conditions, diabetes, respiratory ailments, and multiple physical disorders. Adults with a psychiatric diagnosis are considered on an individual basis.

In-home supports and short/long-term respite services are available to adults over 21 years of age. These services are supported through local county funds, family voucher funds, and private payment.
