Adult Program
Adults, Ages 18 and up
The Adult Program offers comprehensive treatment to serve adults with a variety of mental health and developmental disabilities requiring extended care in a supportive residential setting. This program is based on the philosophy that all individuals benefit from a challenging environment, and grow and learn through new experiences. Adult Community members are provided opportunities for meaningful work experience, leisure time and social relationships.
Pre-Vocational & Vocational Day Program
Adults, Ages 18 and up
Participants in the Pre-Vocational and Vocational Day Program, a component of the Adult Program, have the opportunity to contribute to society by producing culturally valued goods and services. With the support of Devereux’s experienced and caring staff, participants take part in employment opportunities at facilities, such as our Life Skills Center and Devereux Gardens, which are designed to enhance self-confidence and teach the skills necessary to obtain employment.
The Pre-Vocational Program focuses on building personal skills and practices that include recognizing personal hygiene, clothing care, housekeeping, personal identification and more.
Community Living Program
Adults, Ages 18 and up
The Community Living Program provides community support and services to adults with a primary diagnosis of mental retardation or developmental disabilities who are seeking alternatives to traditional institutional care.
The Community Living Program is operated under a “teach and train” philosophy. The philosophy promotes improved, independent functioning for each individual, and emphasizes consumer choice for places to live, attend school, work and participate in leisure activities.
Children’s Program
Children and Adolescents, Ages 5-14
The Children’s Program at Devereux-Victoria is a 24-hour residential treatment program that provides treatment to emotionally and cognitively affected children and adolescents. Providing structure and therapeutic intervention from highly trained direct-care professionals, the Children’s Program aims to return the children to their homes or to lower levels of care.
Foster Care
Infants, Children and Adolescents, Ages Infants-18
Devereux Foster Care serves infants, children and adolescents of all ages who have been removed from their biological families due to abuse and/or neglect. The Foster Care program focuses on the care of each child, emotionally and physically, with an emphasis on developing effective social and coping skills and normalization. Foster parents are trained to care for children and adolescents who may have challenging behaviors. Devereux case managers provide ongoing support and ready access to psychological and/or psychiatric services when required.
