Volunteering confers at least three benefits?
- It can make a real difference in the lives of one or more Kanner students
- It can help our staff to be more effective in what they do; and
- It can provide you with an immensely rewarding experience
Here are some things you can do as a volunteer at the Kanner Center: Kanner Learning Centerneeds computer assistants and tutors to work on a regular basis with our students in math, writing and reading. Lecturers and guest speakers who would be willing to share their expertise or specialty with our children.
Our Residential Programs need birthday buddies, big brothers and big sisters. People who would like to help with craft projects. Mentors to meet on a regular basis with one student who needs adult support and advice. Coaches to aid residential staff in organizing and coordinating intramural games such as, soccer, softball, etc.
Kanner Center needs groups who would be interested in painting, planting and general grounds clean up. Secretaries who can act as a receptionist, type, copy and computer related needs.
