The Devereux Scales of Mental Disorders (DSMD™) and the Devereux Behavior Rating Scale - School Form (Devereux - School Form) are two newly developed and restandardized forms of the Devereux Behavior Rating Scales, originally published in the mid 1960's.
Description of Scales
- The new editions can be used by educators, psychologists, guidance counselors, and other assessment professionals to evaluate the existence of behavioral or emotional problems.
- Each scale has two levels with separate sets of items appropriate for children (ages 5 through 12) and adolescents (13 through 18 years).
- The Scales may be easily completed, scored, and interpreted.
- Items and directions are written at the sixth grade reading level.
- The Devereux Scales meet current professional standards for psychological assessment instruments.
Norms
- Norms were generated from a national standardization sample of more than 3,000 cases.
- The sample closely approximates the 1990 Census.
- Separate norms for males and females for both parent and teacher raters are provided.

- Statistical guidelines for comparison of standard scores are included.

Devereux Scales of Mental Disorders
The Devereux Scales of Mental Disorders offers the psychologist and other mental health specialist valuable information indicating whether a child or adolescent is experiencing an emotional or behavioral disorder. The DSMD™ is fully compatible with the DSM-IV.
The DSMD™ contains 110 items and can be completed in only 15 minutes. It is especially well-suited for treatment planning and treatment outcome evaluation.
The Devereux Scales of Mental Disorders features

Devereux Behavior Rating Scale - School Form
Professionals looking for an efficient method of evaluating a student's behavior quickly and systematically will find the Devereux Behavior Rating Scale - School Form especially useful. The 40-item scale can be completed in just five minutes and will help the evaluator determine which of the student's behaviors fall within the normal range and which students might be experiencing a severe emotional disturbance.
