Advisory Board News and Announcements

Devereux had the privilege of speaking at the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors Community Service Committee meeting on February 21st. Executive Director, Gwen Skinner, thanked members for choosing us as one of their charities to support and shared our organization's story and mission. Devereux plans to participate in ACBR’s annual Spring Fling fundraiser taking place May 24th at City Winery in Atlanta. We look forward to working with the ACBR on community service projects benefiting our kids! Special thanks to F. Keene Miller, ACBR member and past-chair and long- standing member of Devereux’s Advisory Board, for facilitating this special partnership.

Events and Campus Activities

On Tuesday, March 7th, Dr. Yolanda Graham and other members of the Georgia Medical Association’s 2017-2018 Physician’s Leadership Academy met with Gov. Nathan Deal and members of the Georgia House of Representatives, to empower physicians in the area of advocacy. Devereux Georgia is proud of the impact team members, like Dr. Graham, are making!

On March 16th students in our Journey program, along with Devereux staff and Devereux Speech Therapist, Amy Taylor, visited the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. The students, who learned about artist Hale Woodruff during the month of February in honor of Black History Month, viewed Woodruff’s paintings which are currently on special exhibit at the High Museum. After the museum visit, students went to a special lunch at Chili’s to practice their social skills in the community.
