Devereux Florida - Community Residential
The Devereux Florida Residential Treatment Center (RTC) serves children and adolescents (6 through 17 years of age) who suffer from emotional, behavioral and psychological problems. A majority of the clients have a history of physical and/or sexual abuse, neglect, abandonment, unresolved trauma or psychological conditions that hinder them from functioning in a family environment. The RTC provides an open, therapeutic, residential living environment for clients to further develop basic social living skills and to enhance emotional and social development. Clinical services are administered based on the individual needs of each individual and may include psychiatric, individual, group, family and recreational therapy. Educational needs are evaluated and programs are designed to meet the client’s level of functioning. The RTC has the capacity to serve up to 19 children and/or adolescents and focuses on children who cannot be maintained in a family environment or less restrictive setting. The voluntary residential treatment program has the primary goal of returning the client to a family environment within the community.

Devereux Florida’s Specialized Therapeutic Group Home (STGH) facilities provide 24-hour supervision and instruction while preparing youth for independence in a home-like environment. The STGH model provides growth and development through assessment and treatment planning and a comprehensive array of therapeutic services, designed to assist with transition from a residential program to either an independent living program, or returning home to a family. Youngsters are offered a wide range of opportunities to develop and test their abilities to self-manage an independent lifestyle within the therapeutic community. The STGH program offers the capacity to serve up to 12 individuals in each of the three homes.
