As a division of Devereux Center for Resilient Children (DCRC) our School-Age team strives to conduct research to provide the evidence base for our resources, advance the state of knowledge in our field, and to provide information that will contribute to advocacy efforts for children’s social and emotional health.

We value data-driven decision making, and our resources including assessments and interventions are grounded in theory, research-based, practical and accessible.

DESSA Spanish Translation in Progress! 
A translation and supporting research study are underway! Are you a bilingual Spanish and English Speaker? E-mail Katherine Ross to participate in our research on the Spanish DESSA.

DESSA in Schools
The Anchorage Alaska School District has been partnering with Devereux Center for Resilient Children (DCRC) to use the DESSA and DESSA Mini as a system for screening and evaluating Social-Emotional Learning. Devereux Arizona is collaborating with the Devereux Center for Resilient Children (DCRC) School-Age Team to Pilot the DESSA in Foster Care

SCAN Inc., Fort Wayne, IN is collaborating with the Devereux Center for Resilient Children (DCRC) to use the DESSA and DECI resources and assessments to enhance and evaluate their Family Restoration Program

DESSA and Committee for Children

Organizations and Agencies
The Devereux Center for Resilient Children (DCRC) School-Age team is interested in pursuing partnerships with universities, state and local agencies, and individuals who are planning to embark on research projects involving the DESSA. If you are interested in a partnership with our research team please contact Paul LeBuffe.

Student Research Opportunities
The DCRC School-Age team and the Kaplan Early Learning Company are happy to support graduate students undertaking research projects that involve the Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA).

Support from the Devereux Center for Resilient Children (DCRC) and the Kaplan Early Learning Company could include consultation with research staff, networking with other researchers or DESSA users in the field, discounted materials, and/or opportunities to present or publish research findings.

Contact us with your two page research proposal so that we can assess the best way we might be able to support you. Please be sure to include the name of the graduate program in which you are enrolled, the degree sought, and the contact information for your faculty advisor.
