Devereux Early Childhood InitiativeThe Devereux Early Childhood Assessment (DECA) is a research-based, standardized assessment of children’s within-child protective factors. The DECA Program was recently reviewed in the 15th edition of the Mental Measurements Yearbook (MMY), the authorative reference on psychological assessments. The strategies that the DECA Program suggests to support teachers in building children’s within-child protective factors are based on early childhood best-practices.

Devereux is currently conducting research on many different aspects of the Devereux Early Childhood Assessment Program to further solidify the Program's evidence base. Devereux’s research team is working with early childhood programs across the nation to gather information and answer questions about the DECA Program’s impact on children, teachers and parents.
