What is the DECA-C Program? Now, for the first time, measure children's resilience as well as social/emotional concerns with the new DECA-C. This is a standardized, norm-referenced behavior rating scale that assesses behaviors related to both social and emotional resilience and social and emotional concerns in preschool children 2 to 5 years. The primary purpose of the DECA-C is to support early intervention efforts to reduce or eliminate significant emotional and behavioral concerns in preschool children. The DECA-C may also be used to guide interventions, help identify children needing special services, assess outcomes, help programs meet Head Start, IDEA, and similar standards.
Fast and Easy to Complete
The DECA-C is a 62-item scale that can be completed by either parents or teachers in about 15 minutes. Scoring is made simple by a user-friendly record form.
Scoring and Interpretation of the DECA-C Level-B users are qualified to score and interpret the DECA-C. This will help to ensure proper use of the tool and results.

*The Institute of Clinical Training and Research (ICTR) of the Devereux Foundation is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. ICTR is also approved by the National Board of Certified Counselors to offer continuing education credit to National Certified Counselors. ICTR maintains responsibility for the program. Participants attending the entire DECA-C Training Program and completing a program evaluation form will receive between 4-8 continuing education credits, depending on if they attend the half-day or full-day DECA-C Training. Anyone can receive APA or NBCC credit (you don't have to be a psychologist or counselor). However, whether it will count towards an individual's license or certification is up to the appropriate state board.
