  • In this webinar, presenters will provide an overview of relational frame theory as the foundation for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The six core processes of ACT and related intervention strategies will be presented as method for promoting psychological flexibility. The presentation will conclude with a sample case, providing participants with an opportunity to apply newly learned skills.

  • Barry McCurdy, Ph.D., NCSP, BCBA-D
    Dr. Barry McCurdy is the director of training for Devereux’s APA-Accredited Internship in Health Service Psychology and the founding director of the Devereux Center for Effective Schools. He earned a Ph.D. in school psychology from Lehigh University, and has held both clinic- and university-based training appointments during his career. Dr. McCurdy's primary research interest in the treatment of disruptive behavior disorders has led to several prevention initiatives in urban schools and alternative education programs.

    Lyndsie Erdy, Ph.D., NCSP, BCBA-D
    Dr. Lyndsie Erdy is a Training and Consulting Specialist at the Devereux Center for Effective Schools. Dr. Erdy’s experiences include providing assessment, training, and consultation with school and community based-teams. She currently is involved with projects to build and sustain universal, targeted, and intensive supports in urban, suburban, alternative, and early intervention settings.

    Jennifer Francisco, M.Ed., BCBA
    Jennifer Francisco is a Training and Consulting Specialist with the Devereux Center for Effective Schools. She earned a M.Ed. in Educational and Counseling Psychology from West Chester University, is a certified school counselor in Pennsylvania, and is also a board certified behavior analyst. Mrs. Francisco is currently involved in several projects that aim to develop, implement and maintain school-wide behavioral support systems in a variety of settings.

  • Board Certified Behavior Analysts: The Institute of Clinical and Professional Training and Research is approved to offer Type 2 continuing education units (CEU’s) to BCBA certified members. BCBA members attending the entire program and completing the program evaluation will receive 2.0 CEUs.

    Psychologists: Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health- Institute of Clinical and Professional Training and Research is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for Psychologists. Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health- Institute of Clinical and Professional Training and Research maintains responsibility for the program and its content. Participants attending the program in its entirety and completing the program evaluation form will receive 1.5 continuing education credits for psychologists.

    Social Workers: Under 049 Pa. § Code 47.36 social workers and clinical social workers in Pennsylvania may receive credit for continuing education courses and programs accredited by the American Psychological Association.

    Certified Counselors: Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health/Institute of Clinical and Professional Training and Research has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 5110. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health/Institute of Clinical and Professional Training and Research is solely responsible for all aspects of the program. Certified counselors attending the program in its entirety and completing the program evaluation will receive 1.5 NBCC hours.
