Child welfare advocates travel to Tallahassee to share priorities

Port St. Lucie – Child welfare advocates from throughout the state traveled to Tallahassee last week for Rally in Tally, a kick-off event for the 2017 Legislative Session hosted by the Florida Coalition for Children.

Our local team included, from left, Caregiver Jamie Franks, Caregiver and Adoption Support Supervisor Jill Poole and Director of Community Relations Christina Kaiser, who visited local legislators and shared Devereux Community Based Care's legislative priorities.

Priorities include several "fixes" to help prevent children from crossing over from other systems (such as the Department of Juvenile Justice or the Agency for Persons with Disabilities) into the dependency system.
