Caregiver Spotlight: Price

Devereux Community Based Care is proud of its foster parents and plans to give them the spotlight during the next several months, as we roll out our 25 by 25 campaign to recruit and license 25 foster homes by December 25.

This week, the spotlight is on Jenny Price, a foster and adoptive mother in Martin County. She and her husband, Matt, recently accepted the Fostering Hope Award for helping to further recruitment efforts through their ministry at Covenant Fellowship Church.

Why did you become a foster parent? I told my husband that I wanted to adopt another child after our third-born went to kindergarten. We chose foster care rather than going overseas because it was a local option. A child is a gift to a family no matter where he or she comes from, but we are thankful for our choice.

What motivates you? My faith, and seeing lives transformed for the better and seeing investments in time, energy and legacy building into the next generation.

If you could witness any event past or present, what would it be? I would love to be present at my twins’ birth, so that I could see the beginning of their lives in the miracle that God made them to be, and see the joy in their birth mom’s face.

If you are interested in becoming a foster parent or would like to know how your church can become involved in our recruitment efforts, please call Camelot Community Care at (772) 403-8176 Ext. 1145 or email
